A small plane spun out of control over Bayonne, NJ, and crashed into the street, smashing into parked cars and spilling wreckage along the sidewalk Sunday, officials said. Miraculously, no one was hurt and the pilot, who was transported to Jersey City Medical Center in Jersey City, is expected to survive. Robert Kubert, the head of public safety, said the pilot was having technical difficulties as he flew his Piper Arrow over the Statue of Liberty. When the pilot realized he wouldn’t be able to make it to Newark Airport, he made Avenue E in Bayonne his landing strip.
