Missouri Man Chases, Shoots At Adjuster

A Jackson, Missouri man is accused of shooting at an insurance adjuster on Monday, March 16. Mathew Thomas Copen, 38, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s Department, an insurance adjuster was inspecting two homes in the Bella Vista subdivision, off of Missouri Highway 177 near Fruitland. Copen allegedly told the adjuster to leave the area. When he did, Copen allegedly chased him in his truck and shot at him multiple times as he was driving through the subdivision.
