Motorist Killed In Fiery 7-Vehicle Crash On Illinois Interstate

One man was killed and two other people were injured Thursday afternoon in a fiery crash involving three tractor-trailers and four other vehicles on Interstate 290 near Elmhurst, authorities said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office said the man killed was identified as Christopher Follett, 37, of the 8100 block of Homan Avenue in Munster. He was pronounced dead at 5 p.m. State police were notified of the crash about 2 p.m. with reports that one of the trucks was engulfed in flames, according to Illinois State Police Trooper Philip Ayala. Paramedics from the Berkeley Fire Department were already on the scene.
