Multiple Agencies Take On Debris-Removal Challenge

Cleaning up the mounds of tornado debris is a critical task that recovery officials are approaching from several angles with the help of local, state and federal government, the private sector, voluntary organizations and homeowners. “Operation Clean Sweep has received a lot of attention, but it’s important to remember that Clean Sweep is only one tool in our debris arsenal,” said Jeff Byard, state coordinating officer of the Alabama Emergency Management Agency.
