National flood insurance not quite available everywhere

After the August flooding in the area, Nancy Leeth of Sycamore decided it might be time to buy flood insurance for her home. She was surprised when her insurance agent told her the insurance was not available. “I was just looking into it with my insurance agent,” Leeth said. “I sat on the phone for a good half-hour answering her questions. At the end, she told me I couldn’t even get it, because (Sycamore) was suspended from the program.”
