National Report

Monday, November 17th, 2003 Legislation & Regulation Liability Litigation Property

In a story that ran in July’s National Report, “Use of Claim Software Prompts Bad Faith Suit,” it was incorrectly reported that State Farm was reviewing the case and was unable to comment at press time. State Farm does not use Colossus software in evaluating claims. The company involved in the bad faith suit filed by Barbara Martin was Farmers Insurance Company of Washington, a subsidiary of Farmers Group. Claims regrets the error. Holocaust Survivors Sue Insurance Claim Panel Two Holocaust survivors have filed suit against the International Commission on Holocaust Era Insurance Claims, alleging that the panel has improperly delayed or denied payments and that it is biased in favor of Assicurazioni Generali, the Italian insurer that owes survivors more than $1 Billion.
