The strongest employment sector in the insurance industry is claims, according to Monster.com, an online employment resource.

Demand is expected to increase for casualty and health claim professionals, whose work is less easily automated. "You can’t yet send a PC to look at a smashed-up car or speak with a physician," Monster reported. Call centers will also generate more jobs, as claim clerks, as well as health care professionals familiar with medical terminology, will be needed to process information generated from calls.

Employment of claim adjusters, appraisers, examiners, and investigators is expected to increase 10 to 20 percent in the decade 2000-10, according to the U. S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
