NER Launches Heavy Equip Claims Tng

The National Equipment Register announced it has launched a nationwide training program and information service to eliminate confusion and mistakes made by loss adjusters dealing with off-road equipment claims. The program is titled Heavy Equipment Claims Support. NER said errors in the adjusting and reporting of farm and construction equipment claims are common and have the same recurring causes. They listed poor ownership documentation, nonstandard numbering formats, and confusion over where and how to record a loss. The group said that providing basic knowledge in the areas of confusion should “go a long way to helping nonspecialist adjusters to discuss losses with policyholders and agents and be sure that the loss report is accurate. This knowledge may also help adjusters identify suspect claims.”
