New CPCU Accting/Finance Text

American Institute for CPCU/Insurance Institute of America has published the second edition of the text Accounting and Finance for Insurance Professionals. It serves as the basis for CPCU 8, one of the courses in the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) professional designation program. This text, coupled with the course workbook and study guide, adopts a nontraditional approach to the study of accounting and finance and incorporates study materials very different from those used in other CPCU courses. Course materials that had previously been covered by separate accounting and finance texts are integrated into one volume to provide a comprehensive resource for insurance professionals who read and interpret financial statements. Accounting and Finance for Insurance Professionals is application-oriented, which should enable students to learn the material more easily and make the text useful as a reference in accounting and finance work.
