A pair of disturbances emerged in the Atlantic over the weekend, but only one appears likely to strengthen into a tropical depression or storm. At 8 a.m. on Monday, the National Hurricane Center gave that well-defined area of low pressure a 60 percent chance of developing over the next two days. It was about 1,450 miles east of the Windward Islands, moving west at 10 mph. Models aim the system northwest over the next five days, arriving near the Lesser Antilles on Friday or Saturday. From there, its too early to say where it might go or how strong it might get.
