NYSID Warns Insurers To Be Vigilant On Terrorist Accounts
Wednesday, October 17th, 2001 CatastropheGovernor George Pataki and Insurance Commissioner Gregory V. Serio both reminded the insurance community that it is imperative to observe the restrictions contained in the Executive Order of September 24, blocking the property and interests of suspected terrorist groups. "All of New York‘s Department licensees including insurers and agents are instructed to become familiar with their obligations under president Bush‘s Executive Order and review their records for any information that may be relevant to the Order," Serio said in a written statement. "Strict adherence to the Order, and all additional updates provided by the Department of the Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control, will also help to identify additional persons or entities that are subject to the Order as well as assist in eradicating terrorist of their funding resources."
