Officer Hit By Bus In Stable Condition

A police officer who was hit by a bus Thursday morning is listed in stable condition, police said. The accident happened about 9:35 a.m. on Campbell Avenue, near Center Street, Officer Bret Schneider stated in a press release. Master Patrolman Vincent Costanzo was struck by a Connecticut Transit bus as he was getting out of his patrol car, Schneider said. He was transported to the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven, where he was admitted for overnight treatment.
