Oklahoma clerk fends off attempted thief by throwing packs of beer

A Best Stop Food Mart employee was frightened after a suspicious person entered the store Sunday. Lein Nguyen, 70, was watching the store at South East 23rd Street and Central Avenue when a woman entered the store with a gun. “A black female entered the business, demanded cash from the clerk,” said Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow, of the Oklahoma City Police Department. Nguyen said the woman threatened to kill her if she didn’t give up the money. She said the woman then started beating her with a gun, resulting in a 3-inch colorful bruise on her left shoulder. With nothing to defend herself, Nguyen said she grabbed cases of beer and began hurling them at the suspect.
