The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has cited Case Farms Processing Inc. for 14 violations, including repeat offenses, at its Winesburg, Ohio, facility.

Following a severe violator enforcement inspection, OSHA identified issues such as inadequate machine guarding and trip-and-fall hazards, proposing penalties totaling $393,449. With a history of over 70 citations since 1988, Case Farms has demonstrated a persistent neglect of federal safety standards, endangering its workforce, which includes many employees with limited English proficiency. The company, with 3,500 employees nationwide, processes approximately 140,000 chickens daily at the Ohio plant.
