
Twenty-two cars were involved in a massive pileup that occurred on Interstate 70 Sunday evening. The accident happened around 5:30 p.m. between Zumbehl and Cave Springs. According to police records, the pileup occurred after several vehicles attempted to avoid a previous accident. Police believe wet road conditions may have been a factor in the accident. Nine people were taken to a local hospital for minor injuries. Three horses and a dog were also in the accident, but they were not hurt.
