Sailboat blocks I-89

Wednesday, November 14th, 2012 Auto Marine

A sailboat came off a trailer on Interstate 89 near French Hill during Monday’s evening commute. The accident happened in the area of mile marker 80 near the Williston and Richmond line. "We were coming down the hill and the trailer started to dance behind the pick-up truck," said Richmond firefighter Michael Parent. He was driving right behind the boat. "It came around sideways and hit the pick-up truck," Parent said. "Then it broke loose off the trailer and kept going down the interstate." The boat took up both southbound lanes. Luckily it didn’t hit any cars.
