La Niña will last until spring 2011, raising the prospect of more rain and snow in the U.S. Pacific Northwest and the chance of storms late in the hurricane season, the U.S. governments Climate Prediction Center said Thursday. "La Niña is expected to last at least into the Northern Hemisphere spring 2011," the CPC said in a monthly update, adding that most computer models forecast a strong La Niña by "the November-January season before beginning to weaken."
