Study: Med-Mal Payouts Rise Only 4% Yet Doctors Flock To Cap States

A new study finds that growth in malpractice payments was consistent with increases in health care spending between the years 1991 and 2003. According to a study released by the journal Health Affairs, payments grew only 4 percent per year during this period, however extreme judgment awards did not drive these increases.
