Teen Dies After Being Thrown From Carnival Ride

A Dia de los Niños event turned tragic when a 16-year-old girl was killed and a 15-year-old girl was injured after they were thrown from a carnival ride Friday evening at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in East El Paso, police said. The girl died at Del Sol Medical Center, police said. The 15-year-old girl was taken to University Medical Center of El Paso with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, police said. The girls were riding "Sizzler," a ride that spins around, authorities said.
