Texas Officer, 11-Year-Old Boy Killed During Police Pursuit

A Patton Village police officer and an 11-year-old child were killed during a police chase late Sunday. The chase started near Highway 242 and Highway 59 after police responded to reports of a man exposing himself at a Valero gas station. The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Garrett Nee of Kingwood, allegedly led officers on a high-speed chase in his Scion tC.
The pursuing officer’s car was t-boned by an SUV at the intersection of Highway 242 at FM 1485. The officer, Sgt. Stacey Baumgartner, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in The Woodlands where he was pronounced dead.
