The Web as Post Office

So it‘s come to this, a few short years after the World Wide Web opened its doors: Your PC can now spit out postage almost as fast as those stamp machines in the post office can. And without you having to wait in line behind those people who had apparently have no previous experience of the process of mailing letters and parcels. No more long lines waiting to buy stamps or have a parcel weighed and metered. Four products recently approved by the USPS can produce an indicia (the digitally encoded bar code that represents postage on metered mail) on envelopes, labels, and letters.
