Top Ten Risk Mgmt Books

Thursday, July 5th, 2001 Risk Management

Fortunately, we survived Y2K without so much as a risk management hiccup. In fact, the year 2000 was somewhat tame, unless perhaps you happen to manufacture, say, tires. What are today’s risk managers reading for professional development? Here are 10 suggestions — in no particular order — culled from new publications emerging over the past year: Certificates of Insurance: Where Do They Fit Into The Risk Management Scheme? Manual prepared by the RIMS Research Committee, published by the Risk and Insurance Management Society, 655 Third Avenue, New York, NY, 10017-5637, (212) 286-9292, $40 RIMS Members + $5 S&H ($50 non-members). Perhaps few areas of risk management engender as much confusion as certificates of insurance. Are they mini-policies of insurance or are they simply evidence of insurance?
