Emergency crews and environmental officials are responding to a CS train derailment Monday afternoon in West Virginia that sent at least one tanker containing crude oil into a river and also caused a nearby house to catch fire.
There were no immediate reports of injuries. West Virginia Public Safety spokesman Lawrence Messina said the tanker is leaking crude oil into the Kanawha River. Adena village, a neighborhood close to the derailment, was evacuated after one residence caught fire and was destroyed when a train car slammed into a house and burst into flames.
