Not today, especially in the business of claims. Every detail has to be re-examined in light of outcomes. This applies to claims management as well as loss adjusting. Some past claims business models have already been invalidated in the past few years. Whether those models addressed water loss, potential fraud, liability investigation and defense, correspondence, reporting, whatever the point is that business practices that worked in the past may not be working as well in the present . . . and are not likely to work at all in the foreseeable future. This isnt rocket science and all industries repeatedly face this reality. In the last 20 years we have witnessed profound changes in our immediate surroundings. Obviously technology ranks near the top of the change list, but it hardly ends there. Case law is changing the claims landscape with much more impact and speed than even a few years ago.
