Wrong-Way Driver Dies In Head-On Freeway Collision

A wrong-way driver died Thursday night and another motorist was injured when they collided head-on along Highway 288 in south Houston. The collision happened about 9 p.m. on the northbound South Freeway near Airport, according to the Houston Police Department. Police said the driver of a blue Honda Civic was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes when he plowed head-on into a red Dodge Journey. The diver of the Honda died at the scene.
