The number of Montana residents forced to flee from advancing floodwaters rose to more than 200 on Tuesday as overflowing rivers submerged houses, eroded roads and washed out bridges. Record rains and snowmelt are blamed for flooding across much of Montana, prompting Governor Brian Schweitzer to declare an emergency on Monday. Officials said damages are still being tallied on the Crow Reservation in the southeastern part of the state, where the banks of the Bighorn and Little Bighorn rivers were breached last week.
