The nation’s second-largest health insurer was hacked possibly impacting millions. Anthem which operates plans like anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Amerigroup had its database compromised for information such as emails and addresses. Anthem, formerly WellPoint, handles insurance plans all over the country. The breach resulted from a “very sophisticated external cyber attack,” Anthem CEO Joseph Swedish said. At this point in the investigation there is no evidence that points to credit card or medical information being compromised. This could be one of the largest data breaches because the company has more than 80 million customers.
