AI Claims Bot Allows Insurtech Company’s Adjusters To Focus On Customer Service

Pay-per-mile insurer Metromile has announced the launch of a new AI claims system designed to eliminate manual processes used to collect accident data and distribute payments to customers. The automated platform is powered by “AVA,” a smart claims assistant that leverages telematics information retrieved through Metromile’s Pulse device and images sent by customers to replicate accidents. If verified, the AI bot approves the claim and notifies policyholders in seconds, helping them bypass paper forms and physical inspections, according to the company. Submitted claims flagged for further review by AVA are sent to Metromile’s claims team for investigation.
