An Australian driver who pleaded guilty in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court to dangerous driving after using her phone 44 times prior to hitting a cyclist has been fined $4500 and lost her license for nine months. Kimberley Davis’ sentence might have been more lenient had it not been for her comments to police officers following the accident. After she hit the man on the bike, the 21-year-old allegedly told officers that, “I just don’t care.” Davis also refused to help the biker, who suffered a spinal fracture, after striking him.
