A new report by DeepSky Research reveals alarming trends in hurricane rainfall, predicting a 300% increase in the frequency of extreme events and a 33% rise in their severity. The study, which examines four decades of climate data, suggests that the financial impact of hurricanes could exceed $450 billion in the next five years, a significant jump from previous periods.

The report highlights the escalating danger posed by hurricanes, noting that events previously expected once every century may now occur every 25 years. Areas like the Gulf Coast, particularly in states like Texas and Louisiana, are projected to experience the most severe increases in rainfall, leading to catastrophic flooding, destruction, and significant economic losses.

The findings emphasize the importance of urgent preparedness and adaptation efforts to mitigate the escalating risks.
