A wildfire ignited by July 4 fireworks has ravaged 4,000 acres in Wharton State Forest, New Jersey. Dubbed the "Tea Time Hill Wildfire," the blaze was discovered on Friday morning near Batona Campground and Apple Pie Hill. As of Sunday morning, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service reports that the fire is 75% contained.

Firefighters have been battling the flames around the clock, using controlled burns to manage the spread. Despite the progress, the dense pine forest and extreme heat have posed significant challenges. Chief Bill Donnelly highlighted the exhausting conditions for crews, who are working tirelessly to contain the fire.

No structures have been threatened, and no residential evacuations have been necessary. However, local road closures and trail evacuations are in effect. Authorities are investigating the incident, led by the New Jersey State Park Police, the Division of Fire Safety, and the Burlington County Fire Marshal’s Office.

Residents have been advised to avoid the area due to smoke and road closures. The NJ Forest Fire Services has also reminded the public to refrain from using drones in the vicinity, as they can hinder firefighting efforts.
