Kentucky’s Department of Insurance has authorized the temporary registration of unlicensed emergency adjusters to assist with storm-related claims in Daviess, Jefferson, and Oldham counties. This decision comes in response to the tornadoes, wind, and thunderstorms that caused significant property damage across northern Kentucky on March 15.
The emergency measure allows insurance companies to register unlicensed adjusters by submitting a Form 8307 through the state’s eServices portal. The approval process aims to expedite claims handling for affected homeowners and businesses.
News reports indicate that homes, apartment complexes, and commercial properties sustained damage, particularly in Louisville and Owensboro. With another tornado watch issued for parts of central and western Kentucky, the demand for adjusters may continue to rise.
