
The National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies will hold a claims conference with terrorism as the topic for its keynote speaker. The event is scheduled for March 11-13 at the Hilton Hotel in Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla. NAMIC, based in Indianapolis, Ind., said it has recruited experts to attend the meeting and provide up-to-date information on subjects such as recognizing fraud, disaster management, handling business-interruption claims and other topics applicable to a claim organization. Keynote speaker Walter Purdy, director of the Terrorism Research Center, Burke, Va. will discuss "Terrorism's Changes On The Industry." Mr. Purdy has developed and directed the training of law enforcement officers and has supported efforts by the State Department and the Department of Justice, NAMIC said.
