Remember when computers were going to bring us the "paperless office" in the early 1990s? Most IT people still smirk when they hear the term-computer systems, as we all know, have generated more paper, not less, with the rise in faxes, e-mail, and electronic data interchange. Add to that the insurance industry‘s need for forms, documentation, and copies of everything to everyone, and we‘re talking about mountains of paper. But that‘s changing, albeit slowly. Electronic document management systems (EDMS) are becoming a staple for the insurance industry.
