Hard Rock Stadium, along with soccer organizations CONMEBOL and CONCACAF, are facing class action lawsuits following the chaos at the Copa America Final between Argentina and Colombia. On July 14th, uncontrolled crowds breached security gates, causing significant delays, injuries, and denying entry to ticket-holding fans. The game was delayed by an hour, over two dozen arrests were made, and hundreds were injured due to the lack of proper security measures.

Fans, like Das Nobel who traveled from Dallas and spent over $7,000 on tickets, reported being denied entry while witnessing thousands without tickets gaining access. The lawsuit seeks compensation for fans who were denied entry and those injured during the chaos. Additionally, Hard Rock Stadium suffered considerable damage, particularly in the premier ’72 Club Area.

The incident has raised concerns about future events, especially with the stadium set to host the World Cup in 2026. Both the Miami Dolphins, owners of Hard Rock Stadium, and the city of Miami are keen on preventing such security lapses from recurring to ensure a safe and controlled environment for international fans.
