An Oregon man was arrested Wednesday morning after threatening another man with an improvised spear. The incident occurred around 11 a.m. at 1440 Fitness on Third Street, where insurance adjusters were examining fire damage.

A witness reported seeing the individual approach one of the adjusters with a spear, which had a sharp tip or knife attached to its end. Fearing for their safety, the victim and witness quickly decided to leave the job site. They observed him retreat into his motorhome parked nearby.

Police responded promptly, requesting him to exit the motorhome. Two individuals emerged, including one who was identified as the suspect. Officers arrested him and took him to the Deschutes County Jail on charges of menacing and criminal trespass. Inside the motorhome, officers found a long pole and a fabricated metal piece resembling a large knife.

The incident resulted in the temporary closure of the 1500 block of NE 2nd Street for approximately 40 minutes.
