The Target Markets Program Administrators Association (TMPAA) and The Institutes Knowledge Group have partnered to launch the Program Business Professional (PBP) designation, a groundbreaking educational initiative aimed at elevating standards in the insurance program business sector. This new designation, which will replace the TMPAA’s Certified Programs Leader (CPL) designation, emerges from a strategic alliance formed in 2023 between TMPAA and The Institutes, signifying a significant leap in professional development within the industry.

Scheduled for official release in May, the PBP designation combines TMPAA’s extensive network and industry knowledge with The Institutes’ expertise in risk management and insurance education. The program is designed to offer a unique blend of program business-specific content, including courses from The Institutes’ prestigious CPCU Designations, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience. This initiative also provides an opportunity for professionals to earn Continuing Education (CE) credits, further encouraging participation and advancement in the sector.

The unveiling of the PBP designation is eagerly awaited at the TMPAA Mid-Year Meeting on May 14, where attendees will receive a thorough overview of the program’s structure, benefits, and requirements. Leaders from both TMPAA and The Institutes have expressed their enthusiasm for the designation, highlighting its role in enhancing the quality of education and opportunities for professionals in the program business area.

The collaboration between TMPAA and The Institutes is seen as a pivotal development in the field, offering both immediate benefits to insurance professionals and a long-term impact on the growth and innovation within the risk management and insurance landscape.
