Two people were killed when a Bell Helicopter aircraft they were testing crashed in a rural area about 40 miles south of Dallas. A Federal Aviation Administration statement said the Bell 525 Relentless helicopter was destroyed in the accident Wednesday in Ellis County.

Hundreds of people were briefly evacuated from their homes in the Michigan town of Melvindale on Saturday morning after a car hit a natural gas main at a DTE Energy (DTE.N) facility and caused an explosion and fire, police said.

It didn’t take much for thieves to steal the brand new full size farm tractor from a Southwest Michigan farm implement dealership last year. Police said the suspects drove up to the business, cut a wire that secured the vehicle to another tractor then loaded the tractor and drove away with it.

Several box cars have derailed and are engulfed in flames following a collision between two freight trains in the Texas Panhandle. Texas Department of Public Safety Lt. Bryan Witt says the accident occurred Tuesday morning near the town of Panhandle, about 25 miles northeast of Amarillo.

An explosion at a natural gas production plant sent flames high into the sky late Monday night. According to Jackson County Emergency Services Director Earl Etheridge, the explosion happened around 11:30 p.m. at the Enterprise plant in Pascagoula.

Authorities say a man died and three others were injured in an oil well explosion in western North Dakota. The McKenzie County Sheriff’s Department says 52-year-old Johnny Stassinos of Rock Springs, Wyoming, died Saturday afternoon from injuries suffered that morning at a well site operated by XTO Energy Inc. near Watford City.
