Several box cars have derailed and are engulfed in flames following a collision between two freight trains in the Texas Panhandle. Texas Department of Public Safety Lt. Bryan Witt says the accident occurred Tuesday morning near the town of Panhandle, about 25 miles northeast of Amarillo.

A Patton Village police officer and an 11-year-old child were killed during a police chase late Sunday. The chase started near Highway 242 and Highway 59 after police responded to reports of a man exposing himself at a Valero gas station.
